PLUS Business Checking Tips, Info & FAQs
Manage cash flow and process daily transactions while providing interest on your balance.
The PLUS Business Checking Account is designed for companies with a higher number of monthly transactions that can also maintain a minimum balance in their accounts. We appreciate that businesses of this size need versatile accounts that can help them manage their money.
That’s why there is no monthly fee if you maintain a daily balance of $2,000. If it goes below that, the fee is just $9/month.
There are also no charges for the first 200 monthly transactions. After that, it’s only $0.20/transaction. Interest is accrued daily and paid monthly on all balances of more than $1,000.
Starting a business? Ask yourself these questions first.
Are you thinking about going into business for yourself? Doing so could be one of the most rewarding experiences you ever have, but only if you plan accordingly. Before you take the big leap into self-employment, make sure you answer the following questions.
1. Am I an expert?
Having a passion for what you do is great, but if you don’t have the knowledge and expertise to go along with it, your company probably won’t succeed. If you lack expertise at the moment, your immediate goal should be to become an expert before you go into business for yourself.
2. Do I need a boss?
Being your own boss may sound great, but it’s not always the right choice. It takes a lot of self-discipline to get out of bed every morning when no one is making you or turn down an opportunity to hang out with friends because you have to work on your business. Be honest with yourself. If you don’t have enough discipline right now, don’t start your own company.
3. Do I have a business plan?
Without a detailed business plan that includes everything from a sales strategy to cash flow practices, you’ll constantly be taking one step forward and two steps back. Set aside time to put together a detailed business plan so you know where you’re going and how to get there.
4. Where will my revenues come from?
This isn’t just about the products or services you’ll offer. This is also about your ability to market and sell. How will you get people to pay you? If these important activities are not in your current skill set, you’ll need to change that or outsource this important work.
5. Finally, can I manage my money?
If you’re not great with money, running a business will be an uphill battle. This is one of the many ways a PLUS Business Checking Account can help you run your business.
Can anyone make a deposit or complete a transaction on my business account?
Only authorized signers are able to complete transactions. However, anyone can make a deposit into the account and we will never divulge any information (e.g., account balance or recent transactions).
Can I add or remove someone from a business account?
You will need to complete a new signature card and a new resolution for your business.
How long does it take to open a Business Checking Account?
Once all required documentation and signatures are gathered a Business Account can be opened in less than two business days, and often the same day.
