Vacation Club Tips, Info & FAQs
A limited withdrawal vacation savings account
Want to take an awesome vacation? This account makes it simple. You can set up automatic transfers to it each month so you don’t forget to save. Withdrawals are restricted, so you’ll be incentivized not make any until it’s time to embark on your journey.
4 Ways to Save While You're on Vacation
Vacationing on a budget? Here are some ways to save big:
1. Research public transportation
Public transportation is almost always cheaper than Ubers, town cars, and taxis. However, when you’re overwhelmed with a new city, the temptation towards the pricier options is strong. That’s why you should carefully research public transportation routes and options before you leave. Plan ahead so you’ll feel confident and keep your extra cash.
2. Eat in
Consider getting a place to stay with a small kitchenette, or even just a mini-fridge. This will help you prepare and eat more meals in, rather than paying restaurant prices every time you dine. Even if you don’t have a kitchen, you should go grocery shopping for snacks, rather than paying full price for them at tourist venues.
3. Reconsider souvenirs
These may be a vacation staple, but many times, you’ll never look at a souvenir again once you’ve bought it. Instead, take lots of photos to store your vacation memories. They are more personal, and they are completely free!
4. Negotiate
Negotiation goes beyond street vendors. You can often negotiate on lodging prices, especially if you want to stay at an AirBnB or another private offering. Be polite, and don’t be too pushy, but also recognize that there’s no harm in asking.
