From our start as a San Antonio credit union for employees of the United Services Automobile Association (USAA) to now, United Texas Credit Union has been a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative with the mission of improving the financial well-being of our members and the communities we serve.

In April 1955, a group of 19 USAA employees each deposited $5.00 to start our San Antonio credit union. After a short time, the credit union made its first loan of $85 to reupholster a sofa, which set the institution on a path to become self-sustaining.
